PHP » Operators » @

Syntax:
@expression
expression
Statement or expression that might otherwise cause an error or warning message to be printed.

Silence.

The silence operator prevents error and warning messages from being printed.

Examples

Code:
<?php

$a++;
@$b++;

?>
Output:
Notice: Undefined variable: a in \samples\operators\silence.php on line 11
Explanation:

Incrementing a variable that has not previously been assigned a value generates a warning. However, since $b++ was prepended with "@", no warning is printed for that line.
